Sue lives on the outskirts of Cheltenham and has to be one of the most keen dog lovers Pet Carers has ever had the privilege to work with. She has owned dogs all her life and has a passion for horses having owned one as a young girl.
Originally from Surrey, Sue spent 16 years of her adult life living in Greece and returned home to take care of her Mum when she became unwell.
Sadly her Mum passed away so she took it upon herself to move to Cheltenham as it was a treasured place she loved to visit. With the money her Mum left her she decided to buy a Static Home so she could keep some money back to travel a little and see things she wouldn’t have been able to otherwise.
Now settled in Cheltenham, Sue fills her time with Science Fiction and reading, she is also a member of the National Trust.
Sue lost her little dog Pim, last year to old age and was devastated. Pim proved herself a tower of strength to Sue especially through her Mum’s illness and she still misses her everyday. After going through the heartache of losing her best friend, Sue decided that she couldn’t go through that again and didn’t want the emotional commitment of having her own dog.
However, she concluded that it was too hard to be without the company of a dog so she contacted Pet Carers in February 2006 through the Yellow Pages and offered her services and her home to any dog wanting a little holiday.
Sue says fondly, “It’s so nice to have dogs around the place again, they bring life back into the house, full of fun and provide a great laugh. I grow very fond of all of them and hate saying goodbye when they leave as they make such great house guests.
They give so much and are much better behaved than most humans.”
